Hi there, after moving back home to Flimby were I grew up in and after being in pain for years with my back. With new medication and getting a lot more ease with my back I've made the biggest decision of my life. I'm half way through starting my own business in Pest Control & Wildlife Management. Being the Chairman of West Coast Terrier Lurcher and Whippet Club since I moved back to the village enjoying my dog's ferrets etc. I've decided to put my skills to the test. My business will be started in August and I will be doing a Pest Control course in September which will enable me to use Pesticides & Chemicals. I will also be using traps, bait-stations etc. My business name will be Cumbria Wildlife Management . I will be offering a full free Survey & Quotation.and a discount for our lovely O.A.Ps in the Village. Best Regards Gary Kirkbride

Wind Energy: Allerdale Council have granted planning permission for West Coast Energy Ltd to erect a wind farm at Flimby Hall Farm.

Flimby's new Cyclepath becomes part of the Hadrian's Wall Cycleway.

Events

Mid April 2009: The West Coast Terrier Lurcher and Whippet Club will be holding whippet and lurcher racing on Wednesday and Saturday nights (weather permitting). Bring the kids along to what is always a popular event.

The club will also be holding their first show of the year at the Rugby Field on 24th May 2009. Lurcher racing starts at 11:30 am and showing begins at 1.30pm with the childs pet class. Free entry on the gate. Please take time to have a look as this show as there is always something of interest and the kids love it.

The Annual Pensioners trip to Blackpool takes place on 25th June 2009. Please reply to your invitation to Pat, Maureen or Marjorie by 11 June so the number of buses needed can be assessed. 814406
